FROM HERE TO THERE

We have been notified that the house our family of three has been renting for six years (since the home we owned was destroyed by a furnace malfunction) is scheduled to be demolished in October.

While this shabby-but-affordable rental was only ever meant to be temporary, we have found that our efforts to rise back into the modest-but-self-sufficient middle class lifestyle we once enjoyed have proved impossible within the current socioeconomic climate in the northeastern United States.

In the seven years since OUR home and belongings were destroyed, we have slipped into poverty and dependence on social safety nets we once paid into -and now cannot break free from.

This campaign is to raise money to buy and convert a used bus whose function will be to provide our family with a (hopefully) temporary home and traveling school while we make our way from Massachusetts where we now live to our final destination of Grover Beach, California where there is a job waiting for at least one of us and more potential opportunites for the other two.

A bus will allow us to remain living TOGETHER as a family unit throughout the moving/resettling process AND allow us to keep and transport our beloved pets with us.

While we would never consider giving up our mother/daughter bulldogs (Buddha & Shiva) or our Ragdoll Cat (Gary); finding affordable house rentals in CA that will accept our pets has thus far proven problematic.

Additionally, the only truly viable option to keep and transport our precious two-foot-long Koi fish (KeBob & Luna) is to provide them with enough sufficiently filtered and aerated water (about 100 gallons). A converted bus makes this a possibility.

How many times have you heard someone (maybe you?) say they'd love to downsize and strike out on the open-road?  Here is your chance to do just that as we film and share our adventures with you, our supporters of FROM HERE TO THERE!
