Michael's Medical Fund

Hi everyone, this is Brian Kelly; I am Michael Kelly's oldest son, and am raising money for my father that is too proud to create a gofundme page himself. The past few months have been the most challenging he has ever faced. It started in late April when he was layed off from his job of 21 years due to the company outsourcing these jobs to Manilla.  While in the process of searching for new employment, he became very ill. We thought it was just a sinus infection since he mainly just had pressure in his head and blurry vision. Then on the evening of September 4th , my siblings, Jacob and Sara, noticed some major changes. He was running into walls and talking jibberish. My brother made the decision to take him to the emergency room, where we were told to go to another hospital where a neurosurgeon was present. He was immediately put into a drug induced coma; the nurses told us to call all relatives and tell them to come to the hospital right away. We were told that it was most likely a brain tumor, and that he had a 30%-40% chance of survival, He was in a coma for 3 days; luckily, the swelling decreased, and we were told that it was 2 brain abcysts instead of a brain tumor. The surgeon made it sound like a simple task of just draining the infection; However, this is the exact opposite of the truth. During surgery, the surgeon noticed that one of the abscysts had ruptured, and that the infection had spread into his ventricles. This made the sickness even more deadly; the only way to treat the infection now was to send antibiotics straight into his ventricles, and  hope that his body responds well to the medicine. Still, we were told that even if he did make it out alive, he would most likely lose her peripheral vision in his left eye due to the sustained pressure on the right side of his head. Finally after 3 weeks, my father started to feel better. Thankfully, he was released and allowed to go home. But unfortunately, this whole ordeal does not come without major medical bills. My father is a giver, not a taker; he absolutely hates asking for help, but i know that he needs it. So with that being said, I ask for anyone and everyone to donate.
