Support for Sharon

In May, my momma, Sharon Holt, had surgery to fix the ongoing health conditions that have been presenting as multiple sclerosis. She was told it was going to be an easy recovery, but it became clear within a week that things weren't going as planned. She experienced unusual swelling and pain, found it almost impossible to eat or sleep, and though she kept on a brave face for us, it was apparent that her health was deteriorating quickly. A dear family friend encouraged her to seek help from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, which she left for on October 29th. After running test after test, they found a hole in her esophagus and infection spreading through her neck. Today they are preforming surgery to cut out the infection, and then will continue from there to pinpoint the cause of her health problems.

I know not only has my mom been there for those close to our family, but has also been a rock to her community, especially Eliot Elementary. Her passion and love runs deeply, especially for her students.. She is a giver, but also has the flaw that most givers tend to have.. the ability to ask for help.

The surgery she has today is going to hospitalize her for at least 2-3 weeks, if not more. My dad has also taken off work (without pay) to be by her side to give her the love and support she needs to heal, while being away from everyone and everything she knows and loves.

I know she would never ask, so I will. Please donate toward her medical bills and living costs during this critical time in her life. Even if its $1, every little bit is a blessing.
