The gift of hope is a local Toronto based charity, designed to give back to our city. Our mission is to provide hope this holiday season to as many of the grief-stricken homeless through the engagement and support in solving some of their basic needs. This Christmas we will deliver as many packages of hope to a microcosm of Toronto's homeless epidemic through our work with the two following charities– The Good Shepherd & Sistering (Woman Shelter). TGOH’ was created because there is never enough work that can be done for those less fortunate. Our focus is different however, this year we provide homeless with essential supplies through your donations.
"We found very too often that food was going to waste, and not properly stored for them. The real issue was supplies, clean undergarments, and staying warm. Imagine being in that situation, no one donates used undergarments (for sanitary reasons) as they would used clothing."
OUR GOAL
Our goal is to raise a total of $10,000 – which will go towards putting together the HOPE packages for the homeless community. At an average of $5 per package, this should allow us to serve roughly 2,000 homeless people this holiday season, which accounts for about 38% of those living out on the streets & shelters of Toronto (Toronto, 2017).
