Hello, we are members of Brown Sugar, an innovative Food Incubator located in Long Beach, New York. The businesses owned by people of color in Long Beach were removed during the 1970s Urban Renewal plan. Consequently, the City of Long Beach has one Black owned business to date.
“The Cookery”- a taste of Caribbean cuisine by long time caterer Kathy Teemer - Campbell is long overdue in Long Beach. “The Cookery” will be joined by two new vendors: “Southern Comfort” – a taste of Southern American food by Runnie Myles and “Noodles & Love” - a taste of Latino and Asian fusion by Ronald McHenry.
The proposed food incubator will focus on representing the Black, Latino, Caribbean and Filipino communities. Brown Sugar will highlight the community and provide economic stability for the North Park community. We are currently raising additional funds for an expanded commercial kitchen and build out costs. Your contribution will not only assist entrepreneurs in the North Park community but be a part of making history in Long Island!!
