And there is a huge and diverse market waiting for new ideas and safer ingredients to be more readily available, affordable, and fun.

<div>There is something so special about this mixture I have made - this concept I have created where - <strong>Clean Beauty meets Black Cinema</strong>. Of my childhood struggles with a tangled kitchen, ashy elbows, and too few a role model - as seen through this evolving ideation of my product labels featuring vintage Black films.

<div>In the early African American “race film” there is a full cycle of creative production that starts and ends with the Black community, in a way that doesn't exist now. Black Artists Producing, Writing, Casting, Directing, Acting, Performing, Editing, Distributing, Film Projecting, AND the Black Audience WATCHING.

<div>With Brown Angel Skin &amp; Hair I have dug into the archives of early Black cinema - and pulled out this construction of the “race film” for 21st century engagement. Several “race film” directors and production companies may have had only one film survive the archival process. With 100 years gone by, I wonder what we can still learn from these films and these womxn? <strong>What should we hold on to, and what should we let go?</strong> In what critical ways can we <strong>remember</strong> this era of creative Black community, <strong>share</strong> the history and context, and <strong>interpret</strong> these stories? I know <strong>we all belong to this legacy</strong> in some way, and my product idea continues to evolve to share this history, critically and with the love of self and community.
