Brotherly Blessings- Kidney Donor

Several years ago, Chris was diagnosed with PKD- Poly Cystic Kidney disease.  Unfortunately, there is no cure for this disease and his kidney function has continued to diminish drastically over the past year and his kidneys are currently only functioning at 10%.  

After several long months of testing, Chris has finally been approved for a Kidney Transplant.  We are so blessed and fortunate that his brother Rick Halter has been identified and approved as a match and is willing to be a living donor.  As many people in this situation are forced to wait years for a donor match, we are so fortunate to be able move forward with the transplant surgery in just a few short weeks.  These amazing men are not only brothers but best friends. On October 24th they will undergo the transplant surgery at Tampa General Hospital. 

Fortunately we have great insurance and it will cover all of the medical expenses for both Rick and Chris.  However, it doesn’t cover the loss of wages for our generous donor.  We are hoping to help him raise some funds to help relieve the burden of financial worries during this extraordinary act of love and gift of life for our family.
