Brain Tumor Aid for Terry Patterson

Donation protected

My name is James, and this is my Dad.

You see, my dad had a stage 4 brain tumor removed on Mar 2, 2018 - to be more specific, a glioblastoma. In most cases, this is a fatal cancer when it returns later on. Notice I said "when" and not "if." That is the prognosis of the doctors at both Baptist Hospital and UAMS - both in Little Rock, AR. However, the phrase "plan for the worst & hope for the best" stands true here. He has been through a lot the last few months. He has lost his strength and by God's Grace has been recovering. However, there's a long road ahead to continue the fight.

There is no guarantee that the cancer will return, and if so, when it will. There are cases ranging from a few months to many years. His speech is causing him issues, as the tumor was tightly placed on top of his left lobe where language resides (as per what I have learned recently).

My Dad is a Rockstar, in many ways. Preacher, teacher, bus driver, truck driver, leader and friend to many and all he meets.  He is loved  by so many, and he is definitely realizing that face to face with the prayers and support we have all received thus far.

This page is to help with the great range of expenses incurred already and those coming his way.  My father was a preacher for 22 years (and has remained very active in church since). For the last decade or more, his focus has been on driving trucks as a CDL licensed hazmat hauler. This situation prevents him from working at all right now, and there is a high possibility of his career ending. One doctor has already told him he won't be able to drive trucks anymore - period.

We know God does some amazing things, so who knows how positively this could all turn out in the end! But.... money is an issue. None of us have free money lying around. If I did, you already know where it would be! I am asking for help - and that is something the Patterson men are known for avoiding! Ask anyone that knows me, my father, my grandfather, or my namesake late great-grandfather. We are determined & individualistically supported men as much as possible. But bills come regardless. My dad has been given an incredible head start by his church, Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church, but it will run out in time.

He is currently undergoing a strenuous chemo and radiation treatment, so we will see what happens there. He needs your prayers and thoughts, but love and encouragement most of all. Simply put, this page is to clear the air on the story as people should know it. Yes, he was diagnosed with an eventually terminal brain cancer. Yes, he has had surgery and is dealing with major physical and mental consequences. No, we have not given up because God is amazing and my dad is strong!

>>>>I am asking for your help, no matter how big or small, so that I may funnel financial help their way as their expenses rise.  My Dad is a rockstar and a strong loving rock for my life. And I, his son, am very VERY proud of him!
