Rebuild the Brooklyn War Memorial

Tax deductible

The Brooklyn War Memorial has been closed for 25 years. Built as a tribute to the more than 300,000 Brooklynites who served in the war and especially
to the more than 11,000 who died serving overseas.

Without proper maintenance and funding, the closed memorial has fallen into disrepair. It needs new stone work, new roof, new electric, new plumbing, new glass, insulation and most important a ramp,  handicapped accessible bathrooms and an elevator.

Phase One of the restoration includes upgrading the bathrooms - making them handicapped accessible and installing an elevator. The cost of Phase One is estimated to be $1.5 million.

The long term goal is to create a self-sustaining community center/veterans outreach and training center.

The Cadman Park Conservancy is dedicated to restoring the Brooklyn Memorial and to working with the NYC Parks to care for the surrounding grounds.

On May 25, 2015, we held the first "Brooklyn War Memorial Honors," to commorate the 70th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War, and thank our Veterans for their Courage, Valour, and Sacrifice.
