Brooklyn Vik Education Endowment

Donation protected
I have only donated to people on GoFundMe and never expected to have to set up one for a loved one. As many of you know, last Wednesday, October 11th, my brother, Robert (Bob) James Vik, was taken from us. He was only 44 years old and is survived by his daughter, Brooklyn Saige Vik, mother, Deborah Vik, sister, Susan Vik-Schwind, brother, David Vik and girlfriend, Suzanne Whisman. Brooklyn is a 12-year-old young lady who has a very bright future ahead of her. People describe her as honest, respectful, caring, hard working, thoughtful, and resilient. Brooklyn is all of those and more and is going to need more financial support than our family can provide in regards to her education. I have always had a difficult time asking for help when it comes to my family and I; however, this is for an innocent child who deserves an opportunity to be successful in life. We are attempting to raise enough money to help pay for a portion of Brooklyn’s college education. I normally wouldn’t ask for help, but she needs not only mine and my family’s help, but also help from anyone who is willing and able to contribute.

My family and close friends will be starting an education trust in Brooklyn’s name and all proceeds from this GoFundMe page will be deposited directly into that trust. A number of our closest friends are the ones who came to us with the idea for the education trust and plan on donating a small amount monthly as long as they are employed. I am not asking for anyone to do that, but anything you could afford is greatly appreciated and I know Bob and my family would be forever grateful. Brooklyn is a wonderful young lady and my brother lived for her. He would have done anything for her and it is heartbreaking for us that he is no longer here to provide support for her. If you could, please spread the word or share this go fund me page with your friends; the more people who have access to Bob and Brooklyn’s story, the better opportunity she will have for an education.

For those of you that would like more details in regards to Bob’s death, I am happy to speak with you. If you are interested in making a donation for Brooklyn’s education trust, but are not comfortable doing so online, please contact me at [email redacted] for both enquiries. I appreciate everyone who has reached out and expressed your condolences to our family. It has meant more than you know, but right now we are just trying to pick up the pieces and pull ourselves together.

I will be traveling back up to the Everett area the weekend before Thanksgiving for a celebration of life for Bob that we are putting together. I know many of you may be out of town; however, I know Bob placed importance on bringing family and friends together, regardless of how they felt about one another. He always saw the best in everyone, and felt he could help others rekindle broken relationships. If you'd like to join us for the celebration of his life, email me for details.  Thank you for reading this and even if you don't donate, please keep our family and Brooklyn in your prayers.
