Brooke's Medical Mission Trip

This December, I will be embarking on a medical mission trip to Trinidad and Tobago as part of the International Medical Relief team where we will be providing health care in some of the most impoverished areas.  With a ratio of 1,000 patients to every 1 doctor, we expect to see hundreds of patients each day.  We will work in 4 different areas around the island and expect to see hundreds of patients each day. As a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, I will focus on providing women's health and new baby care while working with the local midwives to help improve their current care. This decision was inspired by my study abroad seminar in Quito, Ecuador during which we visited local communities and clinics in dire need of health care.   Each team member will need to provide donations to cover both our personal expenses and fund all of the medications, supplies, etc. that we bring with us.  Please consider donating to my fundraiser!
