Blessing Brooke and Helping  With Her  Medical Treatments

We have started this page to help Brooke and assist her in paying for her medical treatments.

Brooke’s Story

Brooke had what she thought was a cough this past February. Her cough did not improve, and she was losing sleep - coughing nonstop and experiencing some other symptoms. In April, she saw her doctor and went through allergy testing, tried asthma treatments and was considered to have walking pneumonia. By May, she was feeling worse and worse, and she decided to see a pulmonary specialist. An X-ray revealed that she had a mass in her left lung. She was then scheduled to see a lung specialist in June and put on the emergency wait list.  Meanwhile, her symptoms continued to worsen. She had a PET-CT scan and blood work while waiting to get into the specialist. When she saw the doctor on June 16th, we were told Brooke had cancer like activity all over her body, fluid in her lungs, and the tumor in her lung had grown and was constricting her heart. At this point her symptoms seemed to snowball and gain momentum, and her health rapidly deteriorated. On June 20th, she had biopsies and over a liter of fluid was removed from her left lung. This specialist was so concerned, she had Brooke pushed to the front of the line to see an oncologist. At her appointment on the 24th, due to her tests and all her symptoms, they decided to admit her to hospital immediately.  After more biopsies and tests, she was finally diagnosed with Mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma (MLBCL) which is a rare type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Chemo treatments were started the next day.

Brooke will be receiving several cycles of chemo treatments until about Thanksgiving.

How we can we help?

1) Pray! Pray for healing; Pray for rest; Pray for relief.

2) Donate! Brooke’s treatments are going to be costly. Brooke experienced several misdiagnoses on the path to a true diagnosis and was already paying those medical bills. With the multitude of tests and a lengthy hospital stay this month, the bills continue to pile high. Her treatments are necessarily aggressive as the Lymphoma is also so aggressive. Her family is flying back and forth to be here for her as much as they are able.

Brooke and her family are loved by so many people. The outpouring of love has been INCREDIBLE! It is also not surprising because the Borden family members are probably some of the loveliest people you will ever meet!

Thank you sooooo much for wanting to help! You are all a blessing to Brooke and her family!

Brooke said it hurts when she laughs so she is claiming this verse...
