Brooke's road to independence

Donation protected
On Sunday July 9th, Brooke and her family were passing through Boise, Idaho and went for a quick bike ride with some good friends. While scouting out the route for her children, Brooke took a wrong turn, went over what she thought was a small hill, and unexpectedly fell off a gap jump at a slow speed, landing 5-7 feet below on her back. Brooke has a severe fracture in her thoracic spine and as of now cannot move or feel from the waist down.
She is currently at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise and is expected to remain there for a week or so. She has had back surgery to stabilize her spinal fracture and also to fix a broken wrist. Because of the damage to her spinal cord, Brooke will be in rehab for a while to gain as much function as possible. The doctors taking care of Brooke have said that the silver lining in this is that she will be able to be independent with some time and rehab. She will move, drive and be able to function independently.
Anyone who knows Brooke knows that her independence is key, and that she is fiercely passionate about being active, and spending time in the outdoors with her family. Despite these unexpected and unfortunate circumstances, she remains positive and looks forward to trying out a sit-n-ski and a recumbent bike. She has a long road but she is an amazing, hard working woman.
Family and friends have been asking us what they can do to help. All we ask it that you keep Brooke and her family in your thoughts. If you want to make a donation feel free to do so through this GoFundMe page. We appreciate any support.

Thank you!  We will keep you updated on her progress.
