Brooke's Family Time

Brooke is a beautiful, inspirational 22 month old who, in such a short time, has provided so many with unconditional love and joy. Unfortunately Brooke has not had an easy start to life and it is my wish to bring some peace and happiness to her family by easing their financial burdens allowing them time with their beautiful girl.
Brooke’s parents Jess and Brent, in 2016 had a happy, laughing, smiling baby but at only three months old had a seizure and stopped breathing. This was caused by pressure on the brain and she was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiform - a very aggressive brain cancer. Multiple surgeries and treatments later, it is amazing this beautiful little angel still smiles and brings so much love and joy to all around her.
As of 31 December last year Brooke had experienced four surgery’s, countless ambulance rides, two and a half weeks radiation, two craniotomy surgeries, 14 rounds of chemo and countless blood transfusions, totalling 570 days of treatment in all.
Jess, Brooke’s mother, reflects on 2017:
“Too many hospital stays to count. What an intense year, hoping 2018 will lead to checking out of Hotel Monash and a calmer year ahead. Many smiles, many laughs, many memorable moments. Met some amazing people. Head held high, walking into the New Year stronger than we ever knew we could be. Happy new year to everyone we hope it’s going to be a good one xxx"
Unfortunately only a few days ago on January 12 the family were hit with the following news:
Brooke’s treatment for her highly aggressive brain tumour had caused her to have further complications and she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Her chances of survival are now even further diminished having two rare, hard to treat cancers. It is not known how long she will be with us or if she can make it through treatment. Her parent’s hearts are broken, looking at their gorgeous, happy, bubbly daughter playing on the floor oblivious that her life will probably be taken from her sooner than it should.
I have closely followed Brooke's journey from her diagnosis 19 months ago to now, offering support and comfort to her parents and our extended family. Her smile makes your heart melt and her determination to be a survivor is an inspiration to us all.
Brooke’s family have never sought outside support, but it is essential they now spend time together. All we can do is help ease the financial stress so their time is without stress and anxiety.
This is my pledge to Brooke. Through my extended network of friends and colleagues and through their networks and their networks, I ask you to support me in raising $30,000 for the family. I am just seeking 1500 people to donate $20 (or more) and I know this family will be grateful and be able to give the love and support to their little angel while they can.
