Brooke Eubanks memorial scholarship

We have formed a team who hope to honor the memory of Brooke Eisan Eubanks.
Brooke was dearly loved. A wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a professor, she loved to teach.
Her recent passing has left an empty place that will not be filled.
Our group thought we might do a fundraiser in October, tying into breast cancer awareness month, since we wanted to do something to honor her name, (in a small way),and maybe help some others? That said, Brooke her self never wanted to be defined by the disease that she suffered with, and fought so hard for seven years. She didn’t want to be memorialized in pink, (Not her favorite) or be a breast cancer “poster girl”.
What she did want to do was live, she did want to stay with her husband and children and those she loved. She wanted to continue teaching, she was passionate about it. We would like to, in a small way, continue her life, and carryon her vision, rather than memorialize her death.
So a group of us mostly “cousins” so far, will run a race on October 14, 2018. We are doing this as an expression of our desire remember her together, and raise money to award a $500 (or larger) scholarship(s) to benefit a student(s) in the program she developed at Contra Costa College.
In the next weeks, We will share more about her, and our progress towards that goal.

If we raise more money than our goal of $2000, we will award either a larger scholarship or an additional scholarship. Every dollar will help to reduce someone’s hardship as they try to improve them self and grow, right there within the program that Brooke developed for online education
