Bronx Bound Books “a Bookstore on wheels” can be on the way to your neighborhood by Spring 2021!
We are within reach of our goal & YOU can be part of the dream.
My name is Latanya Devaughn, a mother of 3 and founder of Bronx Bound Books. I was born and raised in The Bronx. For almost 20 years, I’ve wanted to create a bookstore in The Bronx. With gentrification hitting The Bronx really hard! Vacant storefronts are popping up left and right. Mom and Pop stores are vanishing in my backyard. Owning a brick and mortar bookstore isn’t part of my journey. Instead of giving up on the dream of owning a bookstore, I decided to create “a bookstore on wheels.”

My dream is to bring books to all corners of The Bronx, especially the parts that have traditionally been left out. A brick and mortar store isn’t part of my journey because a storefront can’t achieve access to books for all. With our “bookstore on wheels” we can.
“Bronx Bound Books a Bookstore on Wheels!” We are the bookstore that comes to you. The bus will travel the streets of The Bronx to bring literature to the people. We’ll to grow our relationship with the community. We are happy to collaborate with local businesses, schools, parks groups, shelters and organizations that encourage literacy in our community. We’ll host outdoor read-alouds, open mics, writing workshops, arts and crafts...pretty much anything a traditional bookstore does. Eventually, when it is safe we plan to host small events inside of our “bookstore on wheels”
I am so proud of how far we’ve come. Bronx Bound Books was officially announced to the community on May 5th, 2019. On that rainy day over 100 people were in attendance. They came ready and willing to help.
Since then we’ve visited various neighborhoods in The Bronx. With the help of so many community partners we were able to donate over 7,000 free books in our community. Bronx Bound Books wants to make books accessible to readers in our community. We encourage book ownership! Books belong in every home in The Bronx. Our future bookstore will have a price point that reflects our community.
Without the bus I’ve been doing the work on Foot! Shout to my friends and family that help pick up books for us. Thank you friends for giving me rides to events and to pickup book donations. Now that we have the bus Bronx Bound Books can do way more for the community.
With the help of a small business grant we were able to PURCHASE OUR BUS! During these uncertain times Bronx Bound Books wants to continue to do the work in our community. With this bus we can do more. We can continue to show up for our borough! With your help our vision can be a reality.

We are seeking to raise $10,000.
These funds will go towards the interior design of the bus, paying a local visual artist to paint the mural on the outside of the bus, paint & supplies and small startup inventory of brand diverse new books.
Thanks to so many book donations from community members, local authors, fellow bookstore owners, and various publishers “WE GOT BOOKS!”
Please help Bronx Bound Bound Books get these books out of our storage unit. These BOOKS need to be on the “on the shelves of our” bookstore on wheels.
