Brittney's Medical Mission to Peru

Hello! My name is Brittney Mull and I am a sophomore medical student at the Howard University College of Medicine (HUCM). This summer I will be traveling with the HUCM International Medicine Interest Group and International Service Learning to serve underserved populations in Peru. Many Peruvians live in poverty and lack access to basic health care services.

During our 17 day stay in Peru (June 10 - June 26) our team will be working under the supervision of local physicians and health care staff to provide some of the following services to underserved Peruvian communities:

·      Interviews/intake at village triage clinics

·      Administration of vaccinations & anti-parasitic screenings

·      Community health education outreach

Furthermore, I will receive intensive training as it concerns medical Spanish, issues and ethics in international health care, and tropical diseases.

I humbly ask that you consider making a donation, which will go towards expenses that include but is not limited to housing and transportation while in Peru, meals, trainings, project supplies, and airfare to Peru. My goal is to raise $3,400 by May 1st, 2015.

This trip will enhance my medical education and better equipt me to continue the work I have already initiated with underserved communities within the United States. I look forward to this opportunity to serve the underserved populations of Peru and greatly appreciate your donations.
