For the last 3.5 months I have been having uncontrollable hives and angioedema. It came out of no where and one day I woke up with my eyes swollen shut and hives all over my body. I went to urgent care the first day this happened and was immediately put on prednisone (which I have been on ever since). Since then I have been to urgent care twice more, the allergist 4 times, to my primary doctor 3 times and the endocrinologist twice. This is unfortunately only the beginning of my journey.Since early December in addition to prednisone I have been on 6 antihistimines in an effort to alleviate the hives. I was told the origin of my hives was likely autoimmune and on my second visit to the allergist they took blood. In my blood results my TSH level was extremely high and out of range indicating hypothyroidism and recently it has been confirmed I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I was put on 2 thyroid medicatons that I will have to take for life. Last thursday I had to get a biopsy of my thyroid since they found a nodule and I am currently waiting to find out if it is benign. All in all, I most likely will have to have surgery to remove the nodule since it is located near a lymph node. Since the antihistimines did not control the hives I was finally put on cyclosporine and able in January to apply to get the Xolair Shot. As of today have been approved for the shot. There is just one catch, the Xolair shot cost $ 1754.58 per shot (even with insurance) until I meet my deductible and only after then will my insurance cover 80% which will still leave me around $350 per month for the shot, in addition to the cost of my thyroid medications, cyclosporine, allergist visits (to get administered the shot) and endocrinologist visits.
As you can see this has been a whirlwind of discoveries these past few months and there is still so much that has to be done. Chronic urticaria and angioedema are extremely dibilitating and have kept me out of work, up at night, and miserable at all hours of the day during a flare up.
I never thought a few months ago I would still be having massive breakouts but Xolair will give me the relief I have been begging for these past 3.5 months. I have attached photos to show the severity of the breakouts. Many of these photos are embarrassing and personal but just a glimmer into what has been happening.

This is a breakdown of my medication/visits I have to pay for each month:
1. levothryoxine medication (thyroid)
2. Liothyronine medication (thyroid)
3. Prednisone (until hives are under control)
4. Cyclosporine (Until being on Xolair for 2-3 months)
5. Xolair injection (1x/month)
6. B-12 shot (1x/3weeks) (copay at dr. office) +1000mcg B-12 everyday
7. Allergist visits (Lab Work) (1x/4 wks)
8. endocrinologist (1x/8weeks) for lab work
