Brittany Zimmer Medical Expense

Donation protected

I am reaching out to our friends, family and any other kind hearted people who may be willing to offer assistance on behalf of my 25 year old daughter Brittany Zimmer.

For those of you that know Brittany, you may be a friend or family member. It could be that she cares for your little ones at the daycare she works at. Maybe you see her at her church volunteering in the media department or beside her loving other half Michael, helping guide the youth group. No matter how, if you know her, you have probably experienced her fun loving personality and sense of humor that shines through, no matter what life brings her way.
But you may have also witnessed the long journey she has traveled in fighting for her health.

For those who don't know, Brittany has a rare kidney disease that began to attack her body roughly 5 1/2 years ago. Because her condition is not common, doctors and scientists are still working to learn more about it and its effective treatments. Her original diagnosis was incorrect. After years of working with renal specialists in Springfield, IL and Barnes hospital in St. Louis, MO, her team of doctors now have greater knowledge of this disease and believe she has a rare variation of the original diagnosis. C3G is a recent disease classification that had newly been discovered shortly after the onset of Brittany's illness.

The treatment she receives now has not only proven to be ineffective, but has also created a strain on her heart as well as the early onset of cataracts on her eyes and suspected beginning of osteoporosis.

In order to receive the correct treatment, testing must be done to prove the diagnosis of the correct kidney disease. The Renal Research Lab at the University of Iowa is the only location in the United States that is capable of performing this critical testing. Unfortunately they will not accept our health insurance.

Without this test, Brittany is unable to receive the correct treatment needed. It is now that we are faced with the task of raising over $8,000 to pay for the cost of these tests out of pocket. As difficult as it is to ask for help, we are humbled to understand that we cannot accomplish this on our own.

We kindly ask for the support of anyone who can help us make this happen. Through faith and the kindness of others, we believe her healing is already written into her future.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and gift of prayer and support.
