Brittany’s brain aneurism

Hello All,

I know it is extremely close to Christmas and money is tight, but I wanted to reach out to everyone and ask for a lending hand for my “sister” (best friend for over 20 years, and yes Brittany will tell everyone the story once she is able to communicate). Brittany is a shining star that will help anyone  in need, no matter what it is. She is an amazing daughter to Carrie, a rocking sister to Erika, a sweetie to the love of her life Travis, and a wonderful mother to Bennett Lee.

Unfortunately, she was in a terrible car accident in 2014 which resulted in a shattered right humerus and patella,  a broken left wrist, and injury to her C6 vertebrae and C7 vertebrae, and a brain aneurysm (not concerning at the time and extremely risky to operate on). She beat the odds and survived her car accident and wears her scars with pride.

Brittany and Travis faced many obstacles prior to the accident. Travis has an autoimmune disease that has left him legally  blind. No one knew exactly why he was losing his vision until 2013. The autoimmune disease has taken his peripheral vision and is now deteriorating his central vision. Though this is bad news, Brittany and Travis faced this challenge head on and understood that Travis would become the forever stay-at-home father while Brittany would be the working parent.

 Tragedy hit Brittany yet again on Monday, December 18th, 2017. At approximately 11:00am her fiancé, Travis found her in their home on the bathroom floor unresponsive. Brittany’s aneurym had ruptured. She was immediately transported to the hospital via ambulance and had surgery the following day at 12:00pm. As any surgery, there were risks involved.  During surgery Brittany’s aneurysm ruptured again. The neurosurgeon was quick to clamp it and once  again, Brittany beat the odds.

However, Brittany’s biggest risk has yet to come. Based off her demographics, she has a 1 out 3 chance of facing Vasospasm. The neurosurgeon explained this takes place typically 4-5 days  post surgery. Vasospasm is a condition in which there is spasm that can constrict blood flow and may result in stroke and/or death. At this time, Brittany has lost much of her short term memory. She is dealing with what is known as “waxing and waning”. Her brain has faced so much trauma that it is in a state of confusion; she may be happy at one time and fall asleep. Once awake again, she may be extremely agitated. She has no recollection of what happened and why she is in the hospital.

At this time, I am asking for any help possible for Brittany, Travis, and Bennett Lee. Though medical bills are still in the works, and because their only income at this time relies on Travis’s monthly disability check, this beautiful family desperately needs help with continuing to pay the normal expenses including mortgage, utilities, food, etc.
