Hello friends and family,
On June 6th I fell and broke my wrist. My left wrist. As most of you know, I am both an artist and a server, who happens to be left-handed. I'm sure you can imagine how this has affected my daily life and ability to work.
Because of the location and severity of the fracture, surgery was necessary to fully restore the function of my wrist and hand. Surgery is over now and recovery is going well. I have a powerful new titanium plate in my wrist currently forcing my bones to fuse together! However, it will still be several weeks before I can carry any weight. The dexterity and flexibility of my hand and wrist may take close to a year to recover. I'm hopeful and I know I'll be back to normal soon enough.
Breaking your wrist hurts, and surgery is a bummer. But the most frustrating part of this experience is that it happened while I'm without insurance. We're applying for - and hope to receive - financial assistance, but it won't be nearly enough to cover the costs of the ER visit, surgery and various check-up appointments, X-rays, etc.
We're asking for any help you can offer, no matter how small, as any amount will be of great use in paying off my medical debt.
