Brittany Double Hand Rim Wheelchair

Hello, my Name is Nicholas Deliva and I’m from Montreal, Quebec. Brittany is a very close friend of mine with quite the story. For those of you who don’t know her, two years ago at the age of 19, Brittany suffered a severe stroke that left her paralyzed on the left side of her body. It took a couple years, countless hours of rehabilitation and a tremendous amount of determination, but she has managed to gain back an impressive amount of mobility and has improved to a point that a lot said wasn’t possible. Her previous passion for basketball encouraged her to join a wheelchair basketball team. Contrary to other players, she only has full use of one arm so she requires a different and specialized type of wheelchair called a double-hand rim chair. I am starting a fundraising campaign to raise the funds necessary to purchase this chair. I will withdraw the funds personally, purchase the chair for her and deliver it to her.

Brittany est une amie très proche de moi qui a une histoire remarquable. Pour ceux qui ne la connaissent pas, il y a deux ans, à l’âge de 19 ans, elle a souffert d’un AVC qui l’a laissé paralisé du côté gauche. Ça lui a pris quelques années, un énorme nombre d’heures de réhabilitation, et une determination incroyable, mais elle a réussi a gagner beaucoup de mobilité et de s’améliorer à un point dont plusieurs disaient impossible. Sa passion pour le basketball l’a poussé à decider de se joinder à une équipe de basketball en fauteuil roulant. Contrairement aux autres joueurs, elle a juste l’usage complète d’un bras, donc elle requiert une chaise différente et specialisé. Je commence une levée de fonds pour ammasser les fonds nécessaires pour l’achat du fauteuil roulant.
