Brittany and Emily's Medical Mission Trip to Kenya

Dear Friends and Family,

When we think of Kenya, we think of a beautiful country made up of diverse ethnic groups, gorgeous landscapes, and impressive wildlife. Kenya’s rich culture and wonderful people truly highlight God’s creativity. Unfortunately, in the last few decades, the people of Kenya have endured many political hardships. As a result, 41 million Kenyans are currently living in poverty and over 3 million children roam the streets as orphans. This situation is made more dire by a lack of governmental social welfare programs and a struggling healthcare system.

As nursing students, when we heard about the hurting people in Kenya, we couldn’t just ignore them. We knew that this was the perfect opportunity to use the gifts and talents that God has blessed us with. That is why we will be traveling to Kenya, next March 7-15, on a medical mission trip.

Our trip will focus on ministering to the orphans in the Mully Children’s Family facilities and to families in nearby villages. Our team will be providing dental, vision, physical therapy, gynecology, vaccines, and general assessments to the people. Together, with medical professionals from around the world, we will be holding clinics for 10 hours each day. We estimate that during our trip we will see and treat over 1,500 people.

We are excited about the opportunity and adventure that lies ahead of us. The total cost for the trip is $6,000, which we need to raise by February 15. If you feel called to support us financially, please know that your gift will change lives forever. We are also seeking prayer partners to pray for our team, for safety as we travel, and for the individuals we will be ministering to. We treasure your prayers and support. We can’t do this alone.

As the Mully Children’s Family mission statement says, we are going to Kenya “to follow the example of Jesus Christ in transforming the lives of children, youth, and marginalized members of the Kenya society.” We thank you for helping make this dream a reality
