On February 8, 2017 we got a text message we never saw coming. Our friend’s little sister was going to the hospital to run tests for cancer. Within a few hours, we all knew it looked bad. Brittany was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma at 30 years old. Brit and her family went to meet with a team at MD Anderson to run scans and discuss her diagnosis a little further. We found out the cancer is Stage 4 aggressive Hodgkins Lymphoma, and we need to act fast. Although Brittany is of strong faith and believes this is in God’s plan, they’re taking this diagnosis head on with no looking back. The lymphoma is not in her bone marrow, which is truly a blessing from God. But, with the most aggressive treatments available, it doesn’t come with a pretty price tag. This aggressive treatment available at MD Anderson is a new medicine that’s been done in trial stages that has not yet been approved by insurance. The side effects of this particular treatment are much worse, but has a very high success rate. She will need 11 of these treatments, and they cost $40,000 per treatment.
Brittany and her husband Will live in Katy, TX, a few miles outside of the Houston area. They have two beautiful babies. One a girl, Ester Grace who is so spunky with such a great personality already, and a boy, Gray, that’s so precious you just want to pinch those cheeks. Brittany and Will are facing this with such a positive attitude, but we don’t want them to suffer financially. The funds raised by GoFundME will help take care of child costs, treatments, parking at MD Anderson, and food for this remarkable family of 4; just the way we want to keep it.
We thank you in advance for any and all funds donated. It means so much to this family.
