Hello! If you're reading this, you're probably a #Britlex shipper from TikTok who's been following our journey from meeting via TikTok to meeting in person!
We met in March of 2020 when we both downloaded TikTok to get through lockdown. An instant friendship was born and we were immediately comfortable around each other to a degree we’ve never felt before. Neither of us could really explain it. It started with a conversation about Repo! The Genetic Opera and before we knew it... we had a TikTok conversion thread as long as CVS receipt (the Americans will understand what that means apparently? *British boy shrugs*)
The friendship grew and grew, and an online romance was born. Soon, our followers were shipping us.... HARD. Using funds from her Etsy shop, Brittney was able to purchase herself a plane ticket to fly from the USA to England and meet me in person. When I picked her up from the airport and we saw each other in the flesh for the first time, something clicked. Our first hug at Heathrow Airport confirmed everything that we already felt about each other.
It has been a long hard road. Without going into it too much, there has been a variety of difficulties and hiccups along the way on both sides, but after everything we’ve been though, we still looked each other in the eyes and knew we had to keep going. We need to be together... in the same country. Brittney has made the decision to move to England, leaving her lonely studio apartment and join my family home with #KerrieMum and my sister who already love her as much as I do. She isn’t used to such a warm, loving family unit and found the support of my mom and sister to be overwhelming (in a good way). So, we have started the process of figuring out how to move her here... this is where we need some help.
We expect this entire process could take about a year to complete because of Brittney's job and just the sheer amount of things that need to be done to help this poor American escape. Within that time, we hope to raise £5000 to afford the international moving company and plane tickets. Now that we've met, theres no going back. Brittney is my person and I am hers. While we are both fully prepared to wait as long as it takes to make this move a reality, we would be so appreciative of any help you can offer us to speed things along. Even a small amount will help.
