This is our daughter, sister and best friend, Brittany McManus. She is the most sincere, fun loving and loyal person you will ever meet.
On Friday 3/30 she was in a terrible boating accident with her dog Boo. Due to a steering malfunction both Brittany and Boo were thrown from the boat. Unfortunately no one was was wearing a kill switch and the boat continued to circle and ran over Boo and Brittany which resulted in Brittany's right arm being 85% severed. Boo suffered a concussion and a broken toe but her quick thinking saved Boo, who is recovering nicely at home.
She has had 4 surgeries so far, and another major skin grafting surgery coming soon. She will be in the hospital for a month and then the doctors said at least 18 months of recovery and physical therapy ahead.
In true Brittany fashion she has not let this injury bring her down. She has the biggest zest for life and this hasn't deterred her one bit. Even with the long road ahead she has been the most positive and uplifting person. It is a true testament to who she really is and it is amazing to watch.
We started this go fund me to help her with the tremendous amount of medical bills that are yet to come. We can't thank everyone enough for their amazing support so far, we know that in no time she will be back to hiking mountains, swimming with sharks and skydiving!
