Britainy's Medical & Support Fund

Britainy Warbois, our beloved friend (and long time barista / manager of the Island's Starbucks inside Safeway) has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

We are awaiting the results of her October 5th biopsy, but we are assured that her treatment and recovery will require intensive medical intervention. She will have to be away from work for some time. We (her friends, co-workers, her regular customers, and the community) will be missing her humor, dedication, and warm presence at work.

But most importantly, she needs us all to support her now.

She had a baby girl, Piper, just 6 months ago, and has exhausted much of her medical leave options due to complications with the C-section. She also has a fiance and an adopted daughter, who love and treasure her. This family has gone from celebrating their new baby and planning a wedding for next year, to now dealing with a very serious and daunting medical issue which puts everything on hold.

Anything we can do to prepare and support Britainy and her family for the trials and tribulations to come will be profoundly appreciated. There is a local bank account being set up in her name , and we are also organizing meal drop offs, and possibly other support in the future.
