Help Get Penelope Home Fund

Our dear friend Penelope Norton has been involved in a motorcycle accident while traveling in Vietnam.
SHE IS OK.
The Nortons have not made this news public, I would assume they dont want to deal with the attention right now, which is understandable. Even though there are buttons to share to Twitter and Facebook, or to "like" this campaign, please skip these steps and do not share this link publicly, or post on Penelope's Facebook wall.
Penelope is currently in Hanoi at a very nice French hospital, recovering from lacerations on her head and legs, broken ribs, and a broken leg (for which 12 screws and a plate were needed). Her spirits are good!
Penelope's mother has flown over to be with her, as it is unclear how, or when, Penelope will be able to return home.
Penelope does not have traveler's insurance. She may need to stay in the hospital an extended amount of time, or fly with a nurse escort, as long flights are ill-advised after major surgery.
The Nortons have not asked for any help, they have taken care of the situation with all resources available, and Penelope WILL make it home soon. This campaign is solely of my doing as I know many of Penelope's friends would want to support her. Much of the expenses for this situation have come out-of-pocket. The Nortons do not know about this fund, and I hope to keep it that way for the time being.
PLEASE respect the privacy of the Nortons at this time. They have not publicized this event, and have much to deal with. Please do not post on Facebook, or share this fund. This is a difficult situation, and the Nortons do not need a major influx of messages. If you have words of encouragement, please post them on this fund page so they may be seen and appreciated at a later time. I'm sure Penelope will love to read them all once she gets home, but at this time, messages between her and the United States should remain reserved for close family, as there is still much coordination to be made.
