Help us get Maxx T1D service Dog!

After nearly 2 years of prayer, we found him!

On May 31 , 2016 our daughter, Emily, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, a life threatening illness that is managed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  (Type 1 Diabetes is a autoimmune disorder that attacks the pancreas. A child with T1D no longer make their own insulin and as a result we, her family, are on alert around the clock to act as her pancreas.)

A blood sugar that is too low or too high constitutes a  life threatening emergency.  While Emily is FANTASTIC at managing and noticing her warning signs, there are still times when she goes low without waking up.

We considered a diabetic service dog to help with night time lows.  However, these dogs cost between $10,000-$20,000 .

Since her diagnosis, I've been praying that God would lead the right pet to our family and if that pet would be a certified diabetic service dog, that would be great!

WE FOUND HIM! (He really found us.)

We just learned about Maxx. He is a 2.5 year old British Lab who is a certified Diabetic Service Dog. He is being re-homed after 1 year of serving his person as she recently passed. His owner is looking for the perfect fit for Maxx and Emily is that fit! In order for us to bring him home, we desperately need your help!

Please consider a donation to help Emily stay safe at night and for Maxx to come to a home where he will be fiercely loved by all of us!

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
