Bring Katie Brown to ORRHS

Old Rochester Regional High School is bringing the Katie Brown Educational Program (KBEP) to our school in the Spring of 2015.  The Katie Brown Educational Program (KBEP) was founded in 2001 in response to the brutal murder of Katherine “Katie” Brown of Barrington, Rhode Island. Katie was only 20 years old when she was killed by the young man she had dated on and off since high school.
In order to memorialize Katie’s life and honor everyone who has been impacted by relationship violence, the KBEP has made it their mission to educate people about this critical issue.  ORRHS Principal Mike Devoll and a group of concerned parents recognize that this program offers invaluable insight to young people as they enter adulthood.  For more information, please refer to the Katie Brown website at www.kbep.org.
The program costs approximately $50 per student.  The intention is to deliver the program to all 790 ORRHS students this year and then integrate the program into the Freshman curriculum in future years.  Since the program was not built into the 2013-2014 budget, we are tasked with privately raising the money this year.  We ask that parents, community members and local businesses consider donating here to help cover the expenses.  You can also mail your donation directly to KBEP at KATIE BROWN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
