<div>Karen is a wife to Ken, a mom to two incredible children, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a doctor, a hiker, a cross country skier, a runner and many other remarkable things. She was tragically diagnosed with ALS about 1.5 years ago and sadly it has progressed very rapidly. She continued to work as a psychiatrist in our rural community up until a few months ago, helping people with their problems while knowing she had a life limiting illness.

<div>She is a private person and has kept her diagnosis quiet to protect her 2 sweet children.

<div>She was denied adequate life insurance due to a pre-existing issue before her diagnosis. She has made very few requests of anyone throughout this battle, but has agreed to this fund raising effort for her family.
