<div>Our home got damaged by high winds and tree limbs puncturing our roof causing water to come in, which created mold.

<div>We had a roof company come out and put tarps on the roof to prevent any more water from intruding our home. However, we have recently found out that the insurance company should have started mitigation immediately to stop further spread of the mold. This would have saved us from what we’re going through now, and all of our belongings.
</div>

<div>We filed a claim with our homeowners insurance and got our roof replaced and our electrical fixed.
</div>

<div>None of the adjusters mentioned anything about mitigation until last month in December when we found out that the mold had spread throughout our home when we went to move our belongings out of the home for repairs.
</div>

<div>We got a mitigation company to come out and verify. We signed a letter giving them authorization to speak to our adjuster and the adjuster gave them the green light to do whatever it takes to get us back in our home asap.
</div>

<div>They came out and started the next day going through our contents to determine what was affected and what was salvageable.
</div>

</div>
<div>They demoed most of the inside taking out insulation, master bedroom vanity, carpet, interior doors, all of the wood trim throughout the home, our kitchen sink, garbage disposal, countertops, backsplash and our kitchen cabinets. They were planning to take out our hall vanity, as well as a few other areas of wall where mold was visible.

<div>The contractor told us he wanted to get authorization from the insurance adjuster before taking out the doors and the kitchen cabinets. The contractor made the decision to take those out and who knows what else, only to find out from his text that they’re stopping all work until they hear from the adjuster.

<div>10 roll off dumpsters later after they threw away all of our furniture, majority of all of our belongings, including a lot of sentimental belongings. This whole process has been extremely difficult for my wife and I, watching our whole life basically being thrown away.
</div>

<div>We contacted the now 8th adjuster first thing Monday to find out that they’re not covering anything after the last adjuster gave the go ahead.
</div>

</div>
<div>Our policy showed we had coverage for fungi and bacteria and that is what was told to us last month from the previous adjuster. This new adjuster says any coverage for mold will not given to us, because they’re going to pay themselves back for overages on our hotel accommodations.
</div>

<div>Now my wife and I are stuck in this hotel having to pay out of pocket for the hotel because insurance said that they’re not going to pay for the hotel even though we have 12 month coverage for hotel expenses, yet they stopped paying after 6 months. We’re completely lost and don’t know where to begin on how to go about getting our home repaired so we can get our home back.

<div>There’s no way we can afford for the repairs to make our home whole again. I’ve lost a lot of work having to deal with this project and WE NEED HELP!
