It's been an emotional 24 hours for me, thank you to everyone who has reached out with their condolences,offered prayer and shared memories of my father.
As you all know Ken was a single man and I am his only daughter and oldest child so his funeral expenses and planning have fallen solely on me. The conversations I have had today with the people taking care of his remains in Las Vegas have been hard.
Initially, I had planned to bring him home to Phoenix and have him laid to rest near his parents but once I found out a few more details on his life insurance situation I realized this was financially impossible.
I have requested a simple creamation from the mortuary he is being held at and for him to be returned to me.Even that price ALONE shocked the hell out of me,like I said,the conversations have been hard. Between running my business and paying the big bills we have taken on this summer since moving into our new salon space AND taking care of the expenses of 2 small children these dollar amounts seem completely out of reach for me and I NEVER in a million years expected to reach out and ask for help via gofundme BUT this is where I'm at.
On August 6th Lafe and I are holding a memorial at our home in Mesa, I will post more details soon but please save the date to celebrate the beautiful life of our beloved father❤️
