Erick came to the U.S. in 2012 as a teenager, alone, escaping hardship in Guatemala. Martina and Erick knew each other from primary school, and she arrived seven years later to reunite with him. They now have two children, one who just started middle school and the other who is in second grade.

On August 2, Erick went to work in Baltimore as usual, and was detained by ICE and immediately moved to a detention facility in New Mexico. The separation has been incredibly difficult for the family. Without Erick as the breadwinner, Martina is worried about keeping up with rent, food, and making sure the kids stay healthy and thrive at school. They are also struggling with legal expenses to bring Erick back home. Your donation is desperately needed for the survival and hope of this family.
