Against The Odds!
We are overjoyed to announce Ella is healthy enough to come to Calif. This has been a very emotional journey, hoping and praying this little one would beat her critical situation.
Diagnosed with Septicemia PMR understood the odds and the uphill battle ahead. The prognosis for survival varies widely from 30% to over 70%, and it is impacted by numerous factors that include early recognition and treatment.
In eleven years, we have never had a sick foal. She is a brand new life, we just couldn't turn our backs, or pull the plug...and with the support of the PMR Community we were able to provide the life saving care she needed to survive. THANK YOU! YOU GUYS ROCK!
It has been more expensive than we could have anticipated ~ But we are so grateful she is alive and on her way to a long and healthy life. She needs special transport out to Calif. as she needs antibiotics every few hours, and mom needs some special care as well. It's a 4 day haul!
We have our 2 additional foals and their moms that were also saved from slaughter. They have finished their QT, are healthy and heading home to us!!
It's a long trip. Texas to Calif. is 1800 miles , and Oaklahoma is even further out.
Please help us out. We are so anxious to get our babies home. Ella and her momma Grace are going to Scotts Valley, and Jaden with colt Echo and Justice with filly Saffy will come to Larkin Valley.
