The story - “Everything has a beginning. Everything has an end.”
The destiny of all living things is death. It is an uncertainty that accompanies us throughout our lives and consumes our final moments of existence.
Knowing the script questions arise about our own freedom, the fear of the inevitable, and the meaning of dreams.
María lives marked by sorrow and pain; her past and her nightmares haunt her and threaten to tear her reality apart. Terrified by her descent into madness, she must face a shadow, drawing inexorably closer, with the intent of ensuring she fulfills her destiny.
This film is born from the certainty that destiny awaits us all and with the aim of encouraging you to find your own answers to the questions that have pursued us since the day our lives began.
The Directors Story - Meet the director:
My name is Maliky, I’m 29 years old, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of becoming a filmmaker. Storytelling has always been my way of making sense of the world—a world that, for me, began with both loss and love.
When I was a baby, my birth parents abandoned me. But fate had a different plan. The greatest woman I’ve ever known—my grandmother—chose to take me in and make me part of her family. Alongside her daughter, my incredible mother, she raised me with love, strength, and resilience. We didn’t have much, but we had each other. And in our little home, some of the most magical moments of my childhood happened in front of a small TV.
Movies were more than just entertainment—they were windows into different worlds, stories that made me dream, laugh, and feel deeply. Those moments shaped me, and from then on, I knew: I wanted to make films, too.
At 17, I took a leap of faith and moved to Spain with nothing but determination. I worked my way up, finished my film education, and spent years honing my craft. I’ve made films under extreme time constraints—competing in 48-hour film festivals—and collaborated with some of the most passionate artists along the way.
For eight years, I’ve poured my heart and soul into this project. This film is more than just a dream—it’s a tribute. A tribute to my mother, who never stopped believing in me. A tribute to my grandmother, who is no longer here but whose love still guides me. This is my gift to them, a story that carries all the love, struggle, and resilience they instilled in me.
Now, I’m asking for your help to bring this story to life. Every contribution brings me one step closer to making this film a reality—not just for me, but for everyone who has ever dared to dream against the odds.
Thank you for believing in me, in this film, and in the power of storytelling. Thank you for being a part of my beginning.

Salary: Why Paying Cast & Crew Matters – My Take on Free Work in Film
I love filmmaking with all my heart, but one thing I refuse to accept is the expectation that filmmakers should work for free just because they’re passionate. Passion doesn’t pay rent. It doesn’t put food on the table. Yet too many talented people in this industry are asked to “gain experience” instead of being fairly compensated for their work.
A film is nothing without its people. Every actor, cinematographer, editor, and crew member contributes to bringing a story to life, and their time and talent should never be taken for granted. That’s why part of this campaign’s budget will go toward paying cast and crew fairly.
This fundraiser isn’t just about making a movie—it’s about making it the right way. If you believe in a future where artists are valued for their work, I’d love for you to be part of this journey. Let’s create something meaningful—not just in the story we tell, but in how we choose to tell it. ✨
Rent of equipment: The Cost of Quality – Why Equipment Matters
Filmmaking equipment is one of the biggest expenses—and for good reason. The right cameras, lighting, and sound gear are essential for a professional, immersive film. Even the most talented crew needs the proper tools to bring a story to life.
I’m fortunate to have an incredibly skilled team, and they deserve to showcase their craft at the highest level. This film isn’t about cutting corners—it’s about quality.
That’s why a significant part of this budget will go toward renting top-tier equipment, ensuring every shot, sound, and detail is captured as it should be. Your support makes this vision possible—let’s create something truly cinematic. ✨
Locations & Set Design – Building the World of the Story
The right locations don’t just serve as a backdrop—they breathe life into the film. Whether it's a stunning landscape, a gritty urban scene, or a carefully crafted set, every setting helps tell the story visually. Your support allows us to secure the perfect locations and create immersive, believable worlds for this film.
Travel & Logistics – Moving the Dream Forward
A film set is a moving machine—crew, actors, and equipment all need to be in the right place at the right time. Transportation, accommodations, and on-set meals may not be glamorous, but they’re crucial for a smooth, focused production. Supporting this film means ensuring everyone can do their best work without worrying about logistics.
Costumes & Makeup – Bringing Characters to Life
What a character wears can tell a story before they even say a word. The right wardrobe, styling, and makeup transform actors into fully realized characters. This budget ensures that every detail on screen feels authentic, polished, and true to the film’s vision.
Post-Production – Crafting the Final Masterpiece
Filming is just the beginning. Editing, color grading, sound design, and music are what truly shape a film into something unforgettable. Every cut, every sound, and every color tone adds emotion and depth. Your support allows us to polish this film into a professional, cinematic experience that stays with the audience long after the credits roll.
Marketing & Distribution – Getting This Film Seen
A film deserves more than just to be made—it deserves an audience. Submitting to festivals, creating trailers, and promoting the project ensures that this story reaches people worldwide. With your help, we can give this film the platform it deserves and share it with the world.
Contingency & Unexpected Costs – Preparing for the Unpredictable
Filmmaking is full of surprises—some exciting, some challenging. A backup budget ensures that if something unexpected happens (weather delays, reshoots, equipment failures), we’re ready to handle it without compromising the film’s quality. Your support helps us stay on track, no matter what comes our way.
