Hello friends and family! My name is David Levy and I have been a police officer for about 7 years now. For the past 6 years, as many of you know, I have played slow pitch softball for Chicago Metro Police Softball Team.
Chicago Metro is made up of officers from over 15 different departments spanning the south Chicago suburbs and northwest Indiana region.
We travel the country about 3-4 times to compete in softball tournaments that mostly benefit families and departments who have lost officers in the line of duty. Most of us spend our own vacation time and personal money to travel and participate in these tournaments.
In 2013, Chicago Metro won our first Policesoftball.com World Series Championship, making us the #1 ranked Gold team in the whole country.
This year, we are taking up a new challenge and we are going to be competeing in the World Police and Fire Games. We will be representing the United States as we compete against 40+ other countries in attempts to bring home a gold medal. These games bring approximately 20,000+ athletes from around the world to compete for one week in multiple sports.
I am asking for help from my friends and family to send Chicago Metro to Washington D.C. so we can bring the south suburbs and northwest Indiana back a gold medal to put next to the World Championship trophy we have from 2013.
