This is a story about a mother who needs your help. A scared mother who’s only mistake was staying away from an abusive boyfriend with a past record of domestic violence. Heather & her baby daughter need your financial help. Any amount, big or small will help reunite baby with mother. Please continue reading to learn why Heather and her daughter Audreana are asking for your help.
The story of why Audreana was taken from her mother is almost unfathomable. When Heather found out she was pregnant, her boyfriend demanded her to have an abortion. Terminating her pregnancy was not something Heather would even consider. To her it was not an option.
When her boyfriend realized she was not going to have an abortion, he became more and more abusive. After an incident where Heather and the unborn baby were physically attacked by him, Heather left the Island of Oahu and went to live in the safety of family in California. It was clear to her that she did not want him anywhere near her or the unborn baby. She never contacted him. She never wanted child support. Heather just wanted to be left alone.
Heather was served a summons to appear in court in Hawaii for a paternity hearing. At the time Heather was not thinking about custody, her only thought was survival and keeping her child safe. It was clear he was unpredictable. Heather missed the first court date for his paternity case as she did not have the funds to return to Hawaii from California. Since Heather was not present, he was awarded temporary custody. It is hard to imagine someone with an abusive background could convince a judge to order a nursing baby to be removed from her primary caregiver, the only parent she has ever known.
We have exhausted all other options. In several months and many court dates she has been denied even supervised visits. I have personally called our omsbudsman, I accompanied her to court to file emergency TROs and requests to expedite. I've even spoken to the police commissioner who actually said "it's just domestic violence". My blood is boiling that this is happening. We have all seen tragedies that were preventable. We have all read articles that clearly state the writing was ON THE WALL. This guy has failed a CPS administered drug test. He has already physically harmed their child. Hawaii courts are failing Audreana.
Heather has missed Easter, Mother's Day and just last month Audreana's 2nd Birthday. It is heartbreaking to watch Heather go into court and come out with no hope of bringing home her daughter.
We are establishing Heather a gofund me page to raise money for the sole purpose of retaining the services of a qualified lawyer. This lawyer will give Heather a voice in the court system, who to date, has not let this mother speak. Unfortunately the American court system isn't set up for the poor. Whoever has the most money wins.
