Donation protected
My Friend and Ex Kings Own Scottish Borders Soldier Stewart Beattie alerted me to a War Heroes Medals that were for sale on Ebay . This really made me sad to be honest . So we have been Investigating if this Soldier who was Killed in Action has any relatives locally to Jedburgh Scottish Borders and ideally we would like these medals to be returned to a family Memeber  . These Investigations are on going so in order to ensure these medals stay in Jedburgh  and hopefully one day returned  relatives  of Mr James Hume ive set up this crowd funding page . Ive Donated £50 to start the fund and if we reach £250 we can buy these medals and i will Donate theseto the Jedburgh Branch of The Royal British legion. If the fund goes over 250 the remainder will be donated to The Royal British Legion Jedburgh Branch .
Thanks for reading i shall put all information on Jame Murray who was killed in action in flanders below . Rest in pease Brave young man !

what we know so far
His full name was James Murray Hume, born 21 March 1897

James was born in Jed to James and Margaret HUme. who lived at 14 exchange street jedburgh , James the elder was a postman who served around the Jed area. They had two other children, daughters Mary and Jane. Jane was married in 1929 and there may be family from her marriage to John Paterson Watt. Mary appears to not have been married, so there may be no family that way.
James and Margaret then moved to Kelso sometime after 1918.
James senior was listed as "the late" by 1946.
jame junior was Taylor for George Jeffrey on bridge st before he enlisted at start of the war.
