Bring the Babies Home - A Fathers Fight
Donation protected
Since 2013 I have watched Christian fight for his babies to come home. In November of 2013 he learned that his two children that he was sole provider for at the time, Caleb and Sophia were taken in the middle of the night to Alabama without his knowledge and against his will. Being he and their mother weren't married, this was considered "legal".
From the moment Christian found out that his children were taken out of state he has fought for them to return to his care. He fought through the courts, he hired lawyers, he represented himself at times, dealt with child services, and sat through numerous hours of court hearings only to be granted 50/50 legal custody. This agreement included Christian being able to see his kids via video visit multiple days a week, during some holidays, and every summer when school was out. The idea of this sounded like a temporary compromise at the time as he went months without seeing and hearing from his children prior to the agreement. Unfortunately, the mother of his children chose not to abide by the court order. Due to her being in Alabama and Christian residing in Minnesota, the courts couldn't do much more than "note" her not following the court order. Not only were these children ripped from the comforts of the life they once lived in 2013, but they were ripped from their family and everything they had ever known.
Fast forward 7 years and here we are, Christian is fighting again to get his kids home. This time he fights with a dire need to get his children to a safe place. Over the last 7 years the children have been in an environment filled with drug abuse, addiction, mental abuse, and have gone without basic needs such as clothes that fit and food on the table. Christian's children are currently in the foster care system as he fights to get them home. These kids have been through hell and back and through it all they have had their father in Minnesota that has proven time and time again that he is more than capable of giving them the life they deserve and the care that they need.
Christian is currently in Alabama doing everything in his power to reunite with his children. We anticipate a long court journey even once the kids are prayerfully home and in his care. The potential legal battle looming could easily exceed 15k.
Any funds raised to "bring the babies home" will go towards the fight to get them here including travel expenses and lawyer fees. The fight doesn't stop there. If there are any funds left over they will go directly to the kids' material and mental needs.
I understand that not everyone is in a place to donate monetarily and that is completely OK!! Your love, prayers and kind words will always be a comfort and motivation to keep fighting to bring these kids home to a loving, nurturing, safe space. Please continue to pray for Caleb, Sophia, and Christian as they continue the journey to be reunited as a family.
Thank you,
