Bring Sanu to America!

Hello!!! As most of you probably know my name is Georgia Suddath and I have been volunteering in Nepal for the past few weeks. I have been living and working at a young boys orphanage home in a town called Pokhara. Their dog, Sanu, has been becoming a "problem" which basically means the people running the orphanage don't want her here any more. These young boys were told they needed to kill their dog. For attempt number 1, the dog was taken down to the river, tied in a plastic bag, and thrown in, but Sanu, being the badass that she is, was able to escape and run back to her home.. very wet, tired, and confused as to why her family threw her in the river. The boys were told to try again. For their second attempt they carried her back down to the river and smashed her in the head with rocks (the wounds from this can be seen in the photos). They thought they had left her to die but our little fighter came back again. This time she was very timid and would only hang around Jacob and I, the other volunteer here. She had been dropped around town and had two attempts on her life and she still always returned to her home. While Jacob and I were constantly being told this was just a difference in culture, which is true, we could not let it carry on any further. (Jacob is a member of the British Army and we were quickly realizing if another solution couldn't be found he was going to have to humanely kill our new friend.) We took her to HART, an animal rescue in Pokhara where they spayed her and gave her all the necessary shots. With a lot of work, phone calls, (and help from my mom) me and Jacob were able to arrange transport for her from Pokhara to the vet in Kathmandu, organize and certify her documents to fly, and find a way to get her to her flights! It may seem like one sentence worth of work but it's took us over a month to plan and execute. All that's left is raising the money for her expenses, which mainly includes the flight. Any amount of money is appreciated!!!! And while we will be extremely lucky and grateful to reach our goal, any excess money will be donated to HART where it will go to help other amazing Nepalese dogs like our Sanu!! ❤️
