Help Rob Whipple get back on his skates!

Hi, my name is Steve and I setting up a fundraiser for a great friend, a coach, one of the great rink managers of Connell Rink in Weymouth, and arguably one the best Zamboni drivers in New England, and an extremely humble individual. (and a decent golfer)

Rob Whipple, a lifetime resident of Weymouth Ma will be facing an uphill battle and I am asking how you can help.

Rob has given me, and countless kids, and many other adults the training, confidence and coaching to try, and succeed in hockey and many other facets, though the various learn to skate, learn to play, adult learn to play and countless opportunities at any chance he gets.

While traveling to California and after visiting a stop on his bucket list, Torrey Pines, Rob started to experience some abdominal pain. After a day, the pains had gotten worse. With the encouragement from close friends, he went to urgent care and found our his appendix had not just ruptured, but burst.

He went in for emergency surgery, which was successful and they caught it in just the nick of time. If he waited any longer, the results would not have been the same, and likely septic.

As of today, Saturday, Rob is recovering in a hospital in San Diego California. He had planned to be back for Thanksgiving, and although his is with a few friends that care for him, he had to spent Thanksgiving in the recovery ward.

With the blessing of the great doctors, staff and nurses of Sharp Hospital in Coronado CA, Rob will be able to fly back next week.

He will have to undergo further treatment, possibly PT and will be out of work until early 2024.

In this time of the holidays, and giving spirit, if you would like to contribute anything to his medical bills, travel expenses and anything to supplement him being out of work until at least the end of January it would be greatly appreciated.
