My name is Amanda and I’m making this campaign in hopes to raise anything that we can to help save our baby Pinzee. Unfortunately, he is currently hospitalized at Blue Pearl Animal Hospital.

This past weekend, he was vomiting every day. Otherwise, he was acting as normal as can be. I made an appointment for him Monday to be seen Wednesday, where they initially ruled it out as a food allergy. But when the blood results came back two days later, his kidney levels were at an alarmingly high level. Since it was a Friday, they recommended that he be seen at a hospital as soon as possible so he could receive a urinalysis and IV fluids. We got there within the hour, and his numbers were doubled from Wednesday's blood draw. Kidney levels aren’t supposed to be higher than 1.6, and his were at 13. They ended up doing an ultrasound on his bladder and kidneys. Thankfully, he was still producing urine, and his kidneys look fine from what they can see. He has been receiving IV fluids and antibiotics since, treating an acute kidney injury and a kidney infection. The numbers have only gone down to 11 in almost two days, and they are recommending he stays longer so they can see the numbers drop to AT LEAST a 6. Otherwise, things can take a turn for the worse.

I hate that I am even making this because I don’t like asking for help. I was approved for CareCredit for part of day one and could only afford to pay for one extra day, which has already cost around $4,000. Both of our jobs have been fairly slow over the last couple of months, so our savings are slim. If you know me, I would do anything and everything I could to save my cats. They are my literal world. I would save all the cats in the world if I could, in all honesty! But Pinzee is so special to me and Dutch. We got him as a kitten almost 8 years ago. He’s our first cat together as a couple. He is so spunky, so full of life! Our other two cats miss him dearly. He is literally the king of the house. He sleeps on our heads at night, cuddles in our laps, and talks to us every day with his little 'Meh' he does. He’s a weirdo in the best way possible! We just want to make sure our baby can come home fully recovered and in good health.

Update:

We couldn’t afford anymore care at the hospital for Pinzee. So we picked him up at about 11:30 last night. Fortunately, his levels dropped to a 7.5 before his release. We also will be giving him Sub Q fluids, antibiotics and nausea meds to further his treatment at home for the next 10 days. I was worried about him not being hospitalized anymore and that something would go wrong at home. So, I did bring him to an urgent care this morning to have him looked at, his bloodwork drawn and urine checked again. His levels have now dropped to a 5.8!! Which is great news. We still need him down to an healthy 1.6 or lower. Unfortunately, he now is experiencing some uncontrollable diarrhea due to stress from the change and or medications. So we are keeping a close eye on that too. We were recommended by the vet at urgent care today, that he should continue the treatment at home as instructed, since his numbers keep dropping. Then bring him to our personal vet in the next 3-5 days to have bloodwork drawn again and an ultrasound sound done, to check his kidneys to make sure there isn’t any permanent damage done from the infection (AKI). We are very happy to have our little man home now. But it’s going to be a long road ahead to make sure he is healthy and thriving! We have spent roughly $5,000 so far, to help keep our Pinzee alive and well. I will be keeping this fundraiser up until he is in the clear, to help cover any our continued vet visits we will still have to pay for and previous debts we have now obtained. Our baby is 1000% worth everything we are doing. So please continue keeping him in your thoughts and prayers! Our boy has been so strong!
