Bucks for Bentley's Battles

Bentley Lowry is a handsome, happy, loving, soon to be 5 year old little boy, who has faced many obstacles in his life so far.  At the age of 9 months , he was diagnosed with Severe Anatomical Artery Compression, which led to a complicated High Risk Heart Surgery at Arkansas Children's Hospital.  While recovering from heart surgery, the doctors at Arkansas Children's were concerned that Bentley was not sitting up or walking by himself, being almost a year old.  A MRI showed that Bentley had a large tumor sitting on his tail/coccyx bone.  He then underwent another surgery to remove the tumor.  Complications lead to the removal of parts of the tail bone and coccyx bone along with the tumor.  It took Bentley a year after his surgery to learn how to walk and sit up fully by himself.  He began taking three different types of therapies to help him developmentally and physically.   Bentley's immune system was compromised due to the major  surgeries, which led him to get sick constantly, even getting RSV, in which he had to be hospitalized for weeks.  At 3 years old Bentley started having many gum/teeth problems and had to have most of his teeth removed and false teeth placed.  He also went through many other minor surgeries during this time.  The Arkansas Children's Genentics team started looking at Bentley's DNA due to all the health problems he was experiencing.  They found that Bentley's genetics ladder has several chromosome deformities that could be the cause of Bentley's health problems and future health problems.  About a year ago, right before Bentley's 4th birthday, he had to face reconstructive skull surgery due to his brain growing but his skull not with it.  This was causing fluid build up, pressure and pain for Bentley.  It was a risky surgery and a very hard recovery that left Bentley even further behind in mental development.  Bentley is still struggling to relearn may things and to speak simple words.  It took us over a year to find a safe, special school for Bentley to pick up with his therapies, etc.  He is a little man of few words, but he has the biggest heart and the brightest smile!  At Bentley's year-to-date CT scan of his head, Will & Casey learned that the reconstructive skull surgery was not a complete success.  Parts of the brain and skull did not heal properly or not at all, therefore, he will have to go in for reconstructive surgery  in  February of 2018.  Also, the doctors will be performing a second surgery during the same time to  repair hydrocele in his nether regions.  Please look into your heart to give this beautiful family some assistance.  Our community is one of giving, and we should make this our biggest priority ever!!!  Right now & through the Holiday Season, please help our own peeps, who have served  us every day for the past several years with a smile on their faces.......... despite their challenges. LET'S DO THIS!!!  God Bless & Amen......
