Thaddeus is a good son that made mistakes when he was young. I made some mistakes as his father.   We both have grown for the better.  I want to bring him home.

In 1995, not long after his wedding...while in a nightclub he got into an argument with someone but it quickly turned into a situation where my son was beat up by a group of guys who chased him out of the club into the parking the group attacked my son, my son realized he had his gun on him so when he had a chance he pulled the gun out and shot into the air to get them off of him.  No one was hurt but it got their attention.

The police were called and my son was arrested and charged w "Attempted Voluntary Manslaughter".  He was sentenced to four years in prison for the offense, an additional 10yrs for having a weapon and another 25 years because it was his "third strike".  A total of 39 years to life was the sentence w "'enhancements". He admitted he was in the wrong but in my opinion he was the victim originally and defended himself (stood his ground).

Thaddeus has been in prision for 23 years now.  We have a chance to get my son much deserved justice by being paroled.  It won't be easy but we feel we have a viable case that the sentence was overly harsh because there was no "malice" in the original offense.  The prosecutors admitted they had "certain difficulties of proof in terms of the case".

If you know our family you know we are extremely close and having my son in prison devastated our family.  His mother is bearing the biggest burden of not seeing her son for 23 years.  Mom and Dad are 80 years old now.  I've made it my purpose to bring my son home to his mother because I know how much it would mean to her having him walk through that door.  It will give her such joy and relief from guilt from losing her son for so many years.  Thaddeus has been denied on his third appeal and our only recourse is to file a "Writ" in court.

We found a compassionate lawyer to take on our fight..we are fortuneate the lawyer offered us a "reduced fee", because in his words, " I offer to inmate clients challenging new laws (Prop. 57), I am very sympathetic to his situation and try to make my services available to people in his situation".

The money from this fund is  goes to our lawyer, Matthew Missakian,

Law Office of C. Matthew Missakian, Inc.

Fee covers the following services:Supreme Court Writ Challenging Denial of Parole Hearing By California Department of Corrections.  Services related to this appeal, including drafting briefs, legal research, and court appearances.  I want to be as transparent as possible.

"WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS".   Habeas corpus is a recourse in law whereby a person can report an unlawful detention or imprisonment before a court.

Hi I'm his brother, we are asking for your compassion and support.  I created #iseeyou so that not only my brothers  but all incarcerated people know that they are not alone.

As an activist I travel across the country speaking on racial injustice and our criminal injustice system that has devastated our communities. I've spoken in Sacramento on behalf of our family and others affected by our states sentencing practices. It is my purpose to make a difference. I can't do it alone. Will you help us?

Thanks on behalf of our family.

Thank you
