Brightening My Future

Hi! My name is Katherine. I’m a senior in high school in Seattle, WA, and an active member of my community. I represent my school as senior class president and by participating in a hand full of clubs and programs, in which I work towards making positive changes in my community. I’m an A student who is taking all International Baccalaureate (IB) courses. On top of my school and community participation, I also am the oldest child in my family and help out with taking care of my siblings.  

I currently use a school-loaned laptop to complete homework assignments. Due to the limitations of the loaned laptop, I don’t have access to a lot of research sites that are essential to completing my work. In June, at the end of my high school career, I’ll have to return the laptop to school. I plan to attend a four-year college post-graduation, and I don’t have the funds to purchase a new laptop once I return this one. Success in the next step of my education relies on me being able to have a computer to complete my coursework and research with, and will also help me keep in touch with my family. 

I’m asking for your help in purchasing a laptop. No matter the size, any donation will be greatly appreciated. If there is any money leftover, the funds will go towards paying for college applications.
