Bring Miko's Family to the RMI

Tax deductible
Miko Vergun is 1 of 21 youth who, with the support of Our Children’s Trust, filed Juliana v. U.S., the landmark constitutional climate lawsuit against the federal government. After years of working with our family on the Climate Crisis, Miko has been sponsored to travel to the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) to see first-hand the climate impacts on her birth country. Our family is asking you to help with a tax-deductible donation, so I (her mom) at least can accompany her on our family’s long-awaited first trip back.

**When you make your tax deductible donation to Climate Change for Families through GoFundMe to help with the cost of the trip, please know how much we appreciate your kindness.

The trip is planned for early October. We need to book flights within days, and so we need your help until we have paid for the trip—but especially right now.

Filmmakers who are making a documentary about the 21 youth will come with us. Check out the trailer and film plans at Pam's Facebook page or at: https://www.facebook.com/youthvgovfilm/.

**✈️ Donations of United Miles would also be extremely helpful. One kind donor has come forward with miles toward Pam’s ticket, So, if you can donate United Miles, please contact us immediately.

Miko and her brother Isaac, both plaintiffs, have worked hard to draw attention to the Climate Crisis, in particular the situation in the Marshall Islands, where she was born. The land of the Marshall Islands is on average less than 7 feet above sea level, and the land itself is made of coral, which is dying and dissolving as the oceans have become more acidic. Pam has led youth climate trainings, and Rob has led parent meetings at the trainings and helps in other essential ways to make the whole family’s activism possible. We are doing what we can, but we would be grateful for help in making it possible for Pam to go with Miko on this trip.

Thank you for helping! And, do your best to attend the trial, which starts on October 29, 2018; you can attend either in Eugene or remotely! Learn more at www.OurChildrensTrust.org.
