Bring Marcelo Home

Donation protected
Hello everyone, this is Kendall & Linda. We used to work with Sadie, an amazing coworker but even better friend. Unfortunately, she’s come to a horrible bump in the road & we’re looking for help from anyone & everyone who can. We’re attaching the story directly from her since only she can tell it best. Our hope is to raise enough money to start to get her through this difficult time. She’s a wonderful mother, but she shouldn’t have to do this alone. Anything you guys can do to help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks from the bottom of a hearts,
Kendall & Linda

“As most of you know, Marcelo is not from the U.S. He came here from Brazil 13 years ago. He wanted to make a better life for himself. He wanted to become part of what we all call "The American Dream".

Turn and look at your significant other. Now imagine that that person is suddenly taken away from you your family. Seems like a dream come true doesn't it?

6 years ago Marcelos paperwork was not renewed. He was put into a limbo status. Never knowing what to expect every time he got a call from his immigration officer. But never being forced to go home.

The immigration system in our country has been a mess forever. With the change in administration our laws are being strictly enforced. Nobody is in limbo. It's becoming a numbers game.

We had been working with a law firm for about a year that we were very unhappy with. There was no progress in our case. After getting a phone call from his immigration officer last week Marcelo called and asked this firm for his file back and any remaining retainer to be returned as we found someone new to work with us.

We immediately filed our marriage paperwork with a wonderful new firm.
Why did we wait a year? $1800.00 just to begin filing our paperwork.

I dont know about many of you, but we have a little (big guy) and kids are expensive. We live a modest life and work very hard for every paycheck. Were in no way living in poverty but this process is a big fat huge chunk of change. Money has always been a big reason holding us back.

We have always known he would have to go back to Brazil for an indefinite amount of time. We had hoped to be able to get a lot more money saved, and new passports for myself and Julien. Jules and I got our pictures done last week. He's seriously the cutest frowny kid ever.

With all that being said, our hope was that we could send daddy off on voluntary departure with a plan in place for me and jules.

Thursday morning he went to his appointment and was not allowed to leave. He has been detained with a group of other men from all over the world who's status was also in this in limbo phase. Five family's are going through the same thing we are.
Five family's just like mine. Where an American girl falls for an accent and a smile. Five family's where daddy didn't come home from work last night.

Marcelo is a wonderful man.. I love him. He's my best friend and partner. He's my husband and my support system. He's the best father I could have prayed for for my jules.

Yeah, he drives me crazy! I get so annoyed with him for leaving his stinky work clothes on the bathroom floor. And how he always eats my chocolate.
Do you know what I would do right now to pick up his damn Lou's Custom Exhaust shirts off the floor? And to catch him sneaking my chocolate mini eggs!? "Are you eating MY chocolate?"

I'm not the type of person who ever asks for help. Its difficult for me. But my husband is being held until a hearing with a immigration judge.

I don't need judgment. I don't need a political war on my page. I need help. I need support.

I need my friends and family to get behind me on this to keep me going and keep me strong for Julien.
I'll need help.

The house were living in is being sold. I need to find a place for me a Julien to live. Any leads on place would be appreciated.

Please, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

I need strength. I'm barely standing here. I'm trying so hard to be strong, and to be patient with Julien. But I have never felt so weak.”
