Bring Liran Home
Donation protected
Hello everyone! This is a request from my younger brother, Jared, and his daughter who find themselves in need due to no fault of their own...
Jared has asked me to share this message: This is my rambunctious little ball of joy, Liran. She is only 7 years old. Liran can be a hard headed troublemaker when she wants to be but she alway has a heart of gold!
Unfortunately, I haven't seen Liran (aside from very few and very brief video calls) since the beginning of summer when her mother came to get her for summer break, allowed via a court ordered visitation lasting just a few weeks. Knowing I had to allow this, I purchased Liran a phone so we could keep in touch, but I was eventually told by her mother the phone had been lost. This left me no way to correspond with Liran outside of calling her mother directly. Whenever I would call her mother's phone, I would get no answer and would have to wait long periods until she would decide to call me.
Liran was court ordered to be brought back to me once the summer break ended and before school started back, but instead of that happening, I was informed that her mother didn't have the funds to bring Liran back to me. My mother and I decided to drive up from North Carolina to Kansas to pick up Liran so that she could return to us safely and being school as scheduled. After several days of long, exhausting driving, we arrived in Wichita. The next morning, I called her mother to inform her that we had arrived and were excited to pick up Liran. After avoiding my question of where we should meet and her asking multiple roundabout questions, she shared an address for pick up.
Little did we know what her true intentions were. She had no plan to return Liran to us. We arrived at the address, which was a QT gas station, where we sat and waited. I would periodically try to call to find out where they were and how close they were to arriving to the gas station, and I only received one answered call and no useful information. After about an hour, I knew something wasn't right and so I called the police for guidance.
In total, we waited 5 hours only to be told by an officer that Liran would not be returned to us as her mother refused to bring her and that there was nothing the police could do in this situation due to the different states and the different laws involved in this matter.
My mother and I had to drive back to North Carolina feeling angry, upset, and defeated.
Fortunately, the judge has since severed her mother's parenting rights. Effective November 2nd, 2023 and has granted us a letter stating I can legally retrieve my daughter. The only problem is now I don't have the funds to do so as a result of our first endeavor to.
This has lead me here, to GoFundMe. Please help me get my daughter back home safe and sound. I am asking for airfare and hotel room funds at this time.
We only want to bring my little girl home. Please help us if you can.
- A devoted, hurt Father.
