Valiente has been part of my family for more than 14 years, along with her companion Jasper, now over 19 years old. I am seeking help to continue efforts to understand what happened after a serious accident and to pursue her return.
In October 2024, while I was temporarily working in Roanoke, Virginia (I’m from Atlanta, Georgia), Valiente fell into a storm drain more than 12 feet deep. Fortunately, she survived the fall and a rescue operation was carried out.
I followed every lead I was given. I made repeated inquiries to local animal care, emergency veterinary, and animal welfare resources. I visited locations in person. Over the following days and weeks, I made repeated efforts to learn about Valiente's condition, whereabouts, and care.
Those unanswered questions eventually led me to file a lawsuit seeking information and public records requests about what happened to Valiente after her rescue and, if possible, her return.
I am representing myself in this litigation and must personally handle filings, records requests, travel, and court appearances between Atlanta and Roanoke, Virginia, in order to continue seeking answers about Valiente’s care, whereabouts, and status after more than 14 years together.
Funds from this campaign will help cover:
• Court filing and litigation-related costs
• Records requests and document retrieval
• Travel and lodging for court appearances and case-related trips
• Related expenses involved in pursuing information about Valiente’s status and welfare
Time matters in cases involving companion animals. Every month that passes is time that cannot be restored. Whether Valiente is alive and can be reunited with her family, or whether answers must be obtained through records and testimony, delay only makes those goals more difficult.
Companion animals can provide significant emotional stability and support, especially during long periods of uncertainty and stress. Valiente and Jasper have been an important part of my daily life for many years.
Thank you for reading and for any support you’re able to give.
